We have joined colleagues in the rest of the UK to call for the Landlord’s Energy Saving Allowance (LESA) to be extended to help landlords upgrade their properties. Landlords can claim the allowance for the costs of buying and installing cavity wall, loft, solid wall, floor and hot water system insulation and draught-proofing. It is currently scheduled to end in April 2015. This is the wrong time to pull back support for landlords – Scotland will consult in a matter of months on regulations that will set a minimum energy performance standard similar to what is already in place in England. LESA can help support early compliance with the standard.
